The media typically used in our CFT Series traps is OFHC® copper wool, held in place by stainless steel screens. These screens are recessed to allow maximum conductance. Using CFT Series traps will result in a cleaner system and allow longer intervals before service is required. Stainless steel wool can be provided by adding "-SS" to the suffix of the part number. CFT Series traps do not require bakeouts; it is replaced once the trap becomes saturated. Install the trap as close as possible to the chamber/pump for prolonged trap life. Key High Vacuum recommends replacing the trap annually.
