Foreline Traps

Foreline traps are an essential component when building a proper high vacuum system. Key High's Foreline traps extend the life of fluids and backing pumps and help keep chambers clean.

Foreline traps are located between the rouging pump and the work chamber. Correctly used, Foreline traps effectively eliminate back streaming and protect the backing pump from condensable vapors and particulates. Without a Foreline trap, oil will backstream into the work chamber, and vapors and particulates will intrude into the roughing pump. Eventually, these vapors and particulates will compromise the achievable base pressure, then shorten the life of the roughing pump.

Key High manufactures a complete selection of high-conductance Vapor Foreline traps. All Vapor Foreline traps are constructed from 304/304L stainless steel and are offered with right angle or inline mounting configuration. The Vapor traps in this section are offered with four standard port interfaces. Isolation valves should always be placed between any capture trap and the work chamber. During regen cycles, isolation valves prevent captured gases from escaping into the work chamber.

Particulate traps are specifically engineered to trap dust, powders, and other particles before they can be ingested by the backing pump. They are constructed with steel and protected by baked enamel, ensuring durability and effective particle capture. These filters feature replaceable cartridges with large dirt-holding capabilities. Key High's Particle traps have low-pressure drops and high-efficiency ratings of over 99%.
