Valves can be mounted in any position. However, the correct, preferred method is to mount the lower port of the valve (poppet side) towards the vacuum pump. This minimizes volume and “pulls” the poppet closed. All valves are leak tested using a helium mass spectrometer calibrated for a minimum sensitivity of 2 x 10-10 std. cc/ sec of helium.
Viton® seals are bakeable to 150° C. Pneumatic valves should be handled with care during the bakeout cycle. Do not heat the pneumatic cylinder above 70° C, as damage may occur.
It is not necessary to remove the valve body from the system. For cleaning or seal replacement, it’s as simple as removing the bonnet flange screws. Proper caution must be taken on spring-loaded valves as the air cylinder is under considerable spring tension. The air cylinder should be properly clamped before removing any bonnet screws to protect personnel. Replacement parts are available for all valves.
Key High Vacuum Products Inc. takes great pride in our valves. Every effort will be made to manufacture the highest-quality vacuum valves that will be delivered on time, competing in a world-class market with zero escaping defects (ZED). Valves are thoroughly tested at the factory before shipment.
Our SA/SL performance series valves are typically in stock. We routinely modify our existing valves to meet unique requirements, so please feel free to contact us.
