Key High offers a large, comprehensive family of ISO flanges and fittings. These high-vacuum building blocks provide the downstream plumbing in most of the world's vacuum systems. All Key Speedy components are manufactured to ISO specifications, assuring interchangeability.
Key High's Speedy ISO components use the established standard modular interface dimensions. Our Key Speedy offering encompasses flanges, elbows, tee's, crosses, reducers, etc., everything required to build a modern vacuum system. Key Speedy flanges are infinitely rotatable, solving alignment issues. The Key Speedy system offers the most cost-effective way to build up a foreline.
To make a connection using the Key Speedy ISO system, the user will need two identical flanges, a centering ring, and a clamp(s). The centering ring is placed between the two flanges, aligning with the flange face grooves. The clamp(s) are then tightened applying uniform pressure, compressing the Viton® O-Ring between the two flanges, achieving a leak-tight seal.
NW 10 through NW 50 (1/2" through 2" Tube) Key Speedy ISO components use a hinged clamp with a wing nut, which allows one-handed assembly. Hinged clamps should be finger-tightened only until the O-Ring is properly compressed.
NW 63 through NW 320 Key Speedy (2-1/2" through 10" Tube) ISO components use "C" clamps for fastening. The "C" clamps are installed by hand into the flanges' face grooves and then tightened using a box wrench. The clamps should be torqued to 6-10 ft/lbs.
Key Speedy components with Viton® O-Ring can be baked to 205° for short periods while under vacuum. Caution should be exercised as prolonged baking above 160° C will cause Viton® O-rings to break down rapidly. Buna O-Rings are bakeable for short periods at 100° C; sustained baking should not exceed 80°C. A well-designed, clean, baked system with Viton seals and pressures as low as 6 x 10-9 torr can be attained. With Buna seals, pressures as low as 10-7 torr can be attained.
Key High manufactures and stocks thousands of Key Speedy flanges and components, which are ready for immediate shipment and offer one-stop shopping. The ease of use of the Key Speedy ISO system makes this interface system the most popular method for building a high vacuum system. Easy to work with components offer fast assembly and disassembly, and all the components are reusable. It’s the easiest method to build a complete downstream foreline using standard "off-the-shelf" components.
The flange dimensions shown here are the established International Standard Organization dimensions. Rather than repeating them throughout this catalog, they are shown once in this diagram.
Series 316L Key Speedy Stainless Steel ISO Vacuum Components.
At Key High, we are always looking for problem-solving components that benefit the customer. Key High proudly offers our premium Series 316L Key Speedy ISO components, which are manufactured from 316L stainless steel. Series 316L Key Speedy ISO components offer superior corrosion resistance compared to components manufactured from 304/304L.
316L offers excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of applications. Austenitic stainless-steel alloys vary from good to excellent, depending on the chromium and nickel content. The most common austenitic stainless steel is 304/304l, which contains approximately 18% chromium and 8% nickel. 316L stainless steel also has high levels of chromium and nickel. Additionally, 316L has molybdenum (2.00 / 3.00%) added to improve the material’s corrosion resistance.
Series 316L Key Speedy components are recommended for high temperatures and corrosive applications. Additional benefits of 316L are its excellent physical toughness at cryogenic temperatures. Also, unlike other austenic grades of stainless steel, annealed 316L stainless steel is virtually nonmagnetic. Lastly, 316L Key Speedy components have outstanding welding properties, making them the first choice for high-purity applications.
Key High’s Series 316L ISO vacuum components are intended for use in demanding environments, which typically use aggressive chemistries. All our Series 316L Key Speedy are manufactured from the finest materials and should be considered first for aggressive environments.
